The Torino Wireless' Mission is to bring the Piedmontese ICT companies along the way of innovation and competitiveness, promoting models of collaboration, knowledge transferring and cluster projects, and establish the ICT District as an international hub of technology and innovation.

To achieve its mission, Torino Wireless Foundation acts on a set of dimensions:

  • Steering of the Districts R&D priorities and actions
  • Stimulating applied research to increase District competences, also supporting the mobility of highly skilled resources from R&D institute to district companies and funding joint projects between businesses and R&D centres
  • Coaching entrepreneurs, to start new enterprises and supporting the existing ones
  • Organizing innovative financial instruments, to support the development of enterprises in size and strength
  • Setting vertical and horizontal networks among SMEs
  • Generating new opportunities at international level with education, research and attraction of talented people.
The above activities are carried out directly or in close cooperation with a number of partners in the region playing specialized roles.
 
The Torino Wireless Foundation aims not to duplicate existing competences and efforts, but at achieving more effective coordination.
 
Main Assets
  • Deep knowledge of the Piedmontese ICT industry: understanding of the needs of innovation, weaknesses and strengths
    • 1500 companies registered in the DB 
    • 500 interviewed companies 
    • More than 200 key account companies
  • Experience in scenario analysis of market and industry and business opportunity identification focused on vertical high technology fields
  • Experience in project development based on the European, national and regional policies
  • Close interaction with the management of high potential companies during the mid-long run, in term of:
    •  Strengthening the managerial and technical competences
    • New market development (identification of target customers and new Countries)
